A new site was announced this week that helps bridesmaids reuse & recycle your bridesmaid dress (see Monday’s post about Bridesmaid Trade). The Dessy Group launched of Newlymaid.com a place to send your used/old bridesmaid dress for a little black dress. Brilliant, right? Not only do you know that you won’t wear that dress that the bride swears you can “definitely wear again”, but now you can use it towards a piece of clothing that every girl needs: the LBD.
Checking out the website, the process seems fairly easy. You send in your old dress and then get a special Newlymaid price to purchase a discounted little black dress.
So far there are 6 LBD choices on the site, but I am eager to see what new styles are added.
What do you think of this new site? Are you open to selling your bridesmaid dress on a site like BridesmaidTrade.com or swapping it for something more wearable like on Newlymaid.com?
I’m curious what the “special pricing” is like, why this would be better than donating the dress yourself and buying any LBD. At first glance I thought the site dyed the bridesmaid dress black – I think that’s a better idea!
OMG If I could dye all my bridesmaid dresses black, I would be in heaven!
